G&W Electric Co. is seeking a skilled welder in Bolingbrook, IL to assemble and weld subassemblies using MIG/TIG methods, read drawings, and follow BOMs. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a mid- to high- complexity manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include setting up torches, adjusting gas and electrical parameters, inspecting welds, and training others. A strong background in welding and the ability to read technical drawings are essential for success in this

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• At least 1 year formal welding training or equivalent experience.
• 3 years welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Able to safely use small hand and power tools, measuring tools, air tools and welding equipment.
• Able to read and interpret drawings and Bills of Material.
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to perform Mig and Tig welding in various positions.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, align, square up, fit, stiffen and tack weld subassemblies and assemblies of moderate to advanced complexity.
• Set up and regulate pressure for oxyacetylene torch; select electrode size and welding rod.
• Regulate gas, current and voltage for proper penetration and fusion.
• Inspect and ensure welds meet requirements before passing to next operation.
• Train others on welding procedures and techniques as needed.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
