Kloeckner Metals Corporation is seeking a Welder to join the fabrication team on the 1st shift (6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.), with overtime as needed.

You will set up and operate welding equipment, weld in multiple positions, and ensure parts meet precise specifications. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and productivity, with responsibilities spanning from layout and assembly to inspection, maintenance, and fabrication of metal components.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of industrial fabrication welding experience.
• Ability to pass a weld test.
• Ability to read blueprints and job specifications.
• High School diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Welding Operations: Set up and operate hand and power welding tools and weld in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Safety Practices: Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
• Preparation and Assembly: Lay out, position, align, and secure parts before welding.
• Inspection and Measurement: Inspect welds and measure to ensure specifications.
• Material Handling: Weld with aluminum, stainless steel, and other alloys; prepare surfaces.
• Tool/Equipment Selection: Select torches, tips, filler rods, and flux per welding specs.
• Process Monitoring: Monitor welding process to prevent overheating or distortion.
• Technical Reading: Analyze drawings, blueprints, and work orders to plan welding.
• Marking/Tagging: Mark materials with job numbers and identifiers.
• Maintenance and Repair: Detect faulty equipment and notify supervisors; repair parts as needed.
• Fabrication: Produce parts to match production specs.
