Kloeckner Metals - Americas is seeking a Welder to join the production team. The role involves performing welding tasks to produce customer fabrication orders on schedule, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will operate various welding processes, read blueprints, and collaborate with the Operations team. The position requires 1+ year of welding experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to pass a physical exam.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of industrial fabrication welding experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and job specifications.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with welding tools and equipment.
• High School diploma or GED required; vocational school or related on-the-job experience preferred.
• Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate welding equipment and perform welding on flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Maintain safe work environment by following safety practices and using safety gear.
• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts before welding using standard tools.
• Inspect workpieces for defects and verify measurements.
• Weld using various materials and prepare surfaces by cleaning.
• Select torches, tips, filler rods, and flux per specifications.
• Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent issues.
• Read engineering drawings and specs to plan welding tasks.
• Mark materials with job numbers and identifiers.
• Detect faulty equipment or materials and report to supervisors.
• Fabricate products to match production specs.
