Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Reliability Engineer to lead infrastructure resilience in cloud and SAAS environments, partnering across IT and business teams to ensure systems stay stable, performant, and secure.

The role emphasizes DevSecOps tooling, incidents, and AI-driven automation with a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office in Hartford CT or alternate Hartford offices). This position can involve Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, or Charlotte, NC in rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in Infrastructure Engineering, SRE or DevOps.
• Hands-on with observability tools: Splunk, Dynatrace, CloudWatch.
• Cloud and Kubernetes experience.
• Proficiency in Python/Java for automation.

Responsibilities

• Instrument code to generate metrics on health, availability, performance, quality and resiliency.
• Influence technical strategy with cross-functional teams and architecture.
• Lead applications as a technical leader across integration and business domains.
• Develop tooling, alerts, and automation to prevent and resolve reliability issues.
• Improve delivery speed while maintaining reliability and security.
• Implement AI-based anomaly detection and AI-driven troubleshooting runbooks.
