Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to advance AI-driven monitoring, incident management, and resilient cloud infrastructure within the Technology Command Center. The role requires engineering depth and collaboration across teams to rapidly detect, assess, and resolve critical service issues.

Hybrid work is offered with Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC office presence three days a week (Tue–Thu).

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience in monitoring and observability tools.
• Experience in AI-driven data analysis.
• AI tool proficiency including prompt engineering.
• Familiarity with ITSM and ticketing platforms.
• Understanding of event correlation and automation.
• Strong analytical thinking and operational judgment.
• Ability to work under pressure during high-impact events.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical and executive communication for major incidents.
• Perform alert triage, correlation, and initial impact assessment.
• Support major incident detection and escalation with resolver teams.
• Use runbooks and SOPs to investigate, prioritize, and escape events.
• Maintain situational awareness during active events.
• Promote events to incidents and coordinate restoration activities.
• Identify improvements to monitoring and automation.
