Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to lead hands‑on security initiatives across AI‑driven threat detection, vulnerability management, and secure software delivery. You will partner with Cyber, Reliability, Infrastructure, and Software teams to design scalable security platforms and tooling.

Hybrid work is expected with in‑office collaboration in Columbus, OH; Hartford, CT; or Charlotte, NC, three days per week, Tue–Thu.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in cyber‑focused application development with leadership.
• Posted evidence of frontend/backend/API experience with modern frameworks and CSP/XSS prevention.
• Experience designing and delivering enterprise‑scale cyber or app platforms.
• Experience leading offshore teams and using Splunk/Dynatrace/Akamai for observability.
• Expertise in API design (REST/GraphQL), databases, cloud native development, CI/CD, and secure coding.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and guidance across security, engineering, and operations teams.
• Design, build, and deliver AI‑driven cyber solutions for threat detection and automation.
• Lead end‑to‑end solution architecture for cyber platforms and tooling.
• Architect secure, scalable applications with secure SDLC practices.
• Mentor offshore engineers and drive secure coding standards across teams.
