Job summary

South Shore YMCA is seeking a Part-Time Afterschool Site Coordinator at the Laura Center for the Arts in Hanover, MA. You will oversee the afterschool site, ensure licensing compliance, and promote YMCA values while supporting children and families after school.

The role emphasizes staff supervision, family engagement, and community partnerships, with a focus on safety and inclusivity. Work hours are 1:00–6:00 PM, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older.
• Experience with school-age children per EEC requirements.
• Knowledge of EEC regulations and QRIS preferred.
• Ability to build positive relationships with families, staff, volunteers, and school staff.
• Must meet EEC Educator PD requirements (PQ Registry). CPR/First Aid required.
• Background check including fingerprinting.
• Able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and participate in active/outdoor activities.

Responsibilities

Join the South Shore YMCA as a Part-Time Afterschool Site Coordinator at the Laura Center for the Arts in Hanover! You will lead the planning and overall operation of a high quality afterschool program, serving participants, families, members, and volunteers while promoting YMCA core values and lifelong learning. Reports to the SACC Director.

Your Role Will Include:

• Program Management: Plan and run the afterschool site; maintain EEC licensing compliance and promote YUSA HEPA standards; provide reasonable accommodations for children with disabilities per EEC and ADA.
• Staff Engagement & Development: Supervise program staff and participants per YMCA policy, EEC regulations, and QRIS standards; monitor staff related EEC, QRIS, and YMCA requirements.
• Membership Engagement & Development: Build relationships with families, respond to inquiries, solve problems, and engage new families.
• Facility Management: Keep facilities and equipment safe, clean, and well maintained.
• Volunteer Development: Engage and work with volunteers.
• Community Involvement & Support: Assist with YMCA fundraising events and build community partnerships.

Qualifications:

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must meet EEC requirements for experience with school-age children: 1 year with a high school diploma, 9 months with an Associate's degree, or 6 months with a Bachelor's degree.
• Knowledge and experience with EEC regulations and QRIS preferred.
• Builds positive working relationships with staff, children, families, volunteers, and school administrators; addresses family concerns professionally.
• Must meet EEC Educator PD requirements (PQ Registry). CPR and First Aid required and provided by the Y.
• Must pass background check: EEC background check including fingerprinting.
• Able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and join active and outdoor activities, including swimming.

Salary and Benefits:

• $18.00 to $22.00 per hour.
• Sick time accrual: 1 hour per 30 hours worked.

• Laura Center for the Arts, 97 Mill Street, Hanover, MA.
