Job summary

South Shore YMCA is seeking a Part-Time Afterschool Site Coordinator at the Laura Center for the Arts in Hanover, MA. You will oversee the afterschool site, ensure licensing compliance, and promote YMCA values while supporting children and families after school.

The role emphasizes staff supervision, family engagement, and community partnerships, with a focus on safety and inclusivity. Work hours are 1:00–6:00 PM, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older.
• Experience with school-age children per EEC requirements.
• Knowledge of EEC regulations and QRIS preferred.
• Ability to build positive relationships with families, staff, volunteers, and school staff.
• Must meet EEC Educator PD requirements (PQ Registry). CPR/First Aid required.
• Background check including fingerprinting.
• Able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and participate in active/outdoor activities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run the afterschool site; ensure licensing compliance and promote standards.
• Supervise program staff and participants per YMCA policy and QRIS.
• Build relationships with families, respond to inquiries, and engage new families.
• Keep facilities and equipment safe, clean, and well maintained.
• Engage and work with volunteers.
• Assist with YMCA fundraising events and community partnerships.
