Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Portland, OR seeks an experienced EH&S leader to partner with project teams. You will enforce safety programs, train staff, and guide incident prevention on a major construction site.

You will assess exposures, develop corrective actions, and ensure compliance with Federal, State, and owner requirements. Strong leadership, communication, and travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field with 6+ years safety experience.
• CHST certification required or within 2 years of appointment.
• OSHA 30-hour training completed; First Aid/CPR/BBP/AED certifications current.
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and local EH&S regulations.
• Ability to identify exposures and lead corrective actions.
• Experience with construction operations.
• Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Lead EH&S on a single construction project per HQ policy.
• Manage time, resources, and safety leadership on the project.
• Assess safety practices and mitigate risks with action plans.
• Communicate requirements to leadership and teams.
• Develop site safety reports and monitor metrics for improvements.
• Develop site-specific training for personnel on EH&S programs.
• Promote safe work practices per regulations and owner requirements.
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance.
• Hold preconstruction safety meetings and review risk plans.
• Conduct worker orientations and record participation.
• Ensure logs of toolbox meetings; conduct safety audits.
• Other duties as assigned.
