Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to provide high-quality ultrasound imaging of the heart and great vessels for adult patients. The role includes assisting with exercise and non-exercise stress testing and related duties.

QUALIFICATIONS include ARDMS or CCI registration within 1 year, BLS within 30 days, and education in sonography or a related field. New grads are welcome to apply, with potential sign-on and relocation bonuses.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI registration within 1 year is required or pursued.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – AHA required.
• New grads accepted for this role.

Responsibilities

• Performs high quality two-dimensional ultrasound studies of the heart and great vessels.
• Identifies ECG abnormalities and arrythmias as part of assessments.
• Uses age-appropriate techniques and patient positioning for optimal images.
• Applies M-Mode measurements to cardiac dimensions during the cardiac cycle.
• Assesses valvular function with Doppler, including color flow and spectral analysis.
• Operates ultrasound equipment and selects transducer for optimal resolution.
• Documents patient history, exam results, and supporting clinical data.
• Collaborates with cardiologist for clarification and interpretation when needed.
• Supports stress echocardiography, including dobutamine and exercise tests.
• Assists in transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) and communicates results promptly.
