Job summary

Burlington Stores, Inc. is hiring a Shortage Control Associate to safeguard the store and deliver excellent customer service.

You will be at the front of the store, engaging customers with a confident greeting while monitoring for theft and safety concerns throughout shifts. You will train and support associates on shortage reduction programs, report suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty, and maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and monitor the store environment.
• Excellent communication with customers and coworkers.
• Excellent leadership skills that support productive business relationships.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store entrances/exits and high‑risk areas to reduce theft opportunities.
• Greet every customer with a warm, loud, friendly greeting and eye contact.
• Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious subjects to the Manager on Duty.
• Conduct bag and package checks in accordance with safety standards.
• Support training of associates on shortage reduction programs and processes.
