Job summary

Burlington is seeking a part-time Shortage Control Associate to help create a secure shopping environment while delivering excellent customer service. You will monitor entrances, greet customers, and report theft incidents to the Manager on Duty, while upholding safety and security standards.

You will also engage in bag checks where required and assist in training colleagues on shortage reduction programs, embodying our values and promoting a positive, energetic store presence.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, asset protection, loss prevention, or operations preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk, and monitor the store environment for extended periods.
• Excellent communication with customers and co-workers; discreet and confidential.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the entrance/exit and high‑risk areas to reduce theft opportunities.
• Greet customers with a warm, loud, friendly greeting and eye contact.
• Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious subjects to the Manager on Duty.
• Conduct bag and package checks for store and corporate associates as required.
• Support training of associates on shortage reduction programs and safety practices.
