Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking a Welder (Shop) to join our onsite team. The role focuses on carbon arc gouging, FCAW welding, and precision fabrication in a busy shop environment.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of hands-on experience, strong blueprint reading skills, and a commitment to safety and quality. Candidates should be able to pass a multi-position weld test and adapt to varying shift demands.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with carbon arc gouging and FCAW welding electrodes (1/16" and 3/32").
• Ability to pass a 1" weld certification test across 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G using FCAW within 90 days.
• Proficient in interpreting welding blueprints and producing precise welds to meet stringent quality standards.
• Strong understanding of welding safety protocols and disciplined application in shop environments.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate expertise in Carbon Arc Gouging and Oxy/Fuel Torch operations for precise metal cutting and prep.
• Interpret weld symbols accurately and read technical prints and blueprints.
• Operate rigging equipment and overhead cranes with safety and certification compliance.
• Perform fitting and layout operations to prepare components before welding.
• Use various welding electrodes proficiently and adapt techniques to materials and specs.
• Carry out carbon arc gouging with precision for high-quality repair and fabrication work.
• Achieve weld certifications aligned with Komatsu Quality standards.
• Apply advanced trade mathematics for measurement and fabrication challenges.
• Interpret complex drawings, specifications, charts, and tables for project accuracy.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Analyze, update, and maintain reports and records for team communication.
• Maintain machinery and tooling through proactive problem-solving and learning.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with welding technologies and safety.
