Qualifications

• 3+ years' hands‑on experience with carbon arc gouging and FCAW electrodes (1/16" and 3/32").
• Ability to pass a 1" weld test in 1G-4G positions within 90 days.
• Proficient in interpreting welding blueprints and ensuring quality welds.
• Strong welding safety knowledge and shop best practices.
• Solid math skills for measurement and fabrication.
• Good teamwork and ability to work autonomously to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate arc gouging and torch operations for precise metal cutting and prep.
• Read weld symbols and blueprints accurately.
• Operate rigging gear and overhead cranes safely per certs.
• Fit and layout components before welding.
• Select and apply welding electrodes suitable for materials.
• Perform carbon arc gouging to support repairs and fabrication.
• Achieve weld certifications per Komatsu Quality standards.
• Use trade math for measurements and tolerances.
• Interpret drawings, charts, and formulas to ensure precision.
• Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions.
• Maintain reports and records for data collection.
• Read machinist gauges and support quality control.
• Participate in ongoing welding training and safety.
