Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Charlotte, NC seeks an Operations Supervisor to assist the Operations Manager with shift operations and staff. You will supervise technicians and coordinators, ensure objectives are met, and balance safety, quality and cost to meet customer needs.

The role requires leadership across shift activities, adherence to Ryder policies, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve performance metrics.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree preferred or 1–3 years in maintenance operations. Ryder substitution may apply.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or 1–3 years in maintenance ops. Ryder substitution may apply.
• Maintenance and technical shop experience required.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with a Shop Management System preferred.
• Microsoft Office intermediate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Workflow and labor management: planning, scheduling and assigning work to technicians.
• Labor management: training and development of personnel.
• Customer management: maintain customer relationships and ensure uptime.
• Asset management: manage shop tools, equipment, and parts inventory.
• Quality management: conduct inspections, root-cause analysis and ensure repairs meet standards.
• Financial management: monitor costs and support budget targets.
