Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Chattanooga, TN seeks an Operations Supervisor to support the Operations Manager and oversee a shift including Technicians, Customer Service Coordinators and Service staff.

You will ensure customer needs are met while balancing financial, safety and quality targets. This role emphasizes workflow planning, labor/asset management, safety compliance and continuous improvement to meet performance metrics and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma/GED required
• Associate's degree preferred or 1-3 years or more experience in a maintenance operations environment required
• Bachelor's degree preferred or 1-3 years or more experience in a maintenance operations environment required
• Maintenance and Technical experience in a shop environment required
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Experience with a Shop Management System preferred
• Microsoft Office intermediate preferred

Responsibilities

• Workflow Management: plan and schedule work for technicians, track productivity and lead shift meetings
• Labor Management: provide training and development for personnel and perform performance management
• Customer Management: maintain customer relationships and ensure vehicle uptime and communication
• Asset Management: oversee shop tools/equipment, inventory and vehicle specification processes
• Quality Management: perform inspections, root cause analysis and continuous improvement actions
• Financial Management: monitor maintenance costs, payroll, PO approvals and billing processes
