Job summary

Take 5 Oil Change is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to lead a fast-paced team on the shop floor. You will support daily operations, coach staff, and step in as Manager on Duty to ensure safe, efficient service. Training is provided to develop the technical skills and service standards.

Automotive experience is valued but not required; strong communication and reliability are essential to deliver top‑notch customer experiences in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months’ customer service experience in a fast-paced service environment.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others.
• Commitment to following safety policies and practices.
• Strong communication skills with the team.
• Initiative, accountability, and follow-through.
• Ability to stay calm and organized during busy periods.
• Ability to meet age and certification requirements including Inspector Certification when required.
• Reliable transportation to work site.

Responsibilities

• Support the Shop Manager with daily operations and team development.
• Step in as Manager on Duty when needed.
• Provide fast, friendly customer service and resolve concerns.
• Ensure services are completed accurately while reinforcing procedures and safety.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and take on leadership tasks when needed.
• Train new team members and provide coaching.
• Perform Technician responsibilities and assist with opening/closing.
• Assist with inventory counts and shop communication.
