Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking a Shipping Department Leader to manage the department, lead staff, and ensure compliance with SOPs, GMPs, and regulations. You will direct personnel to meet schedules, drive efficiency, and maintain product integrity across loading, unloading, and storage operations.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, communication, and a safety-focused mindset to sustain zero-accident culture and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum four (4) years relevant in a supply chain or shipping environment; experience in perishable foods preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership experience including timekeeping, policy adherence, and conflict resolution; supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with external customers in a timely and professional manner.
• Proficient computer and math skills; able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage department by establishing procedures and adjusting as necessary to meet shipping schedules and budgets.
• Oversee day-to-day activities for efficient transportation and storage of materials and safe loading/unloading of product.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and reduce repeat deficiencies.
