Job summary

Wayne Farms LLC is seeking a Shipping Department Leader to manage all aspects of the shipping team during a 8 PM–6 AM shift. Responsibilities include leading personnel, enforcing SOPs and GMPs, and ensuring on-time, safe loading and unloading of products in a perishable foods environment.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to process improvements, while maintaining compliance with USDA/OSHA and company policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum four (4) years in a supply chain or shipping environment.
• Experience in perishable foods preferred.
• Strong leadership experience including timekeeping and policy adherence.
• Excellent communication skills up and down the chain of command.

Responsibilities

• Manage department by establishing procedures and adjusting to meet schedules and budgets.
• Oversee day-to-day department activities for safe loading/unloading and storage.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and reduce repeat deficiencies.
• Mentor, coach and train/cross-train employees and provide feedback.
• Administer performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions fairly.
• Follow and promote safety initiatives and PPE usage to maintain a zero-accident culture.
• Ensure docks and storage facilities are organized and maintained per guidelines.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet location goals.
• Understand and adhere to current union contract if applicable.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
