Job Description

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk supports daily warehouse and production operations by accurately receiving, storing, and distributing materials, and by preparing outbound shipments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role ensures materials move efficiently through the facility, inventory records remain accurate, and all shipping and receiving activities follow established safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate lift trucks or hand trucks to move and hoist materials safely to designated departments or storage areas.
• Operate stretch wrap machines and banding equipment to secure pallets and shipments for storage or transport.
• Unpack, examine, and route incoming shipments to the appropriate departments or storage locations.
• Inspect incoming materials, reject damaged items, and record any shortages or discrepancies in accordance with company procedures.
• Physically receive raw materials and validate them against supplier packing slips to confirm accuracy of quantities and part numbers.
• Perform the Receipt of Goods process in the companywide ERP software to ensure accurate and timely system updates.
• Execute the put-away process by moving received parts to their designated physical locations and updating inventory records.
• Participate in material kitting activities by gathering and organizing components required for production or assembly orders.
• Prepare outbound shipments by picking, packing, labeling, and staging products according to shipping documentation and schedules.
• Maintain inventory locations, both physically and digitally, to ensure materials are organized, traceable, and easy to locate.
• Keep the work area, warehouse, and equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition.
• Follow prescribed safety regulations and company policies at all times while operating equipment and handling materials.
• Support production, assembly, and sub-assembly operations by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of mechanical, electrical, and wiring components as needed.
• Coordinate with logistics and other internal teams to ensure on-time shipping and receiving of materials and finished goods.

Essential Skills

The facility operates under UL508A, UL1741, and ISO9001:2000-compliant processes, emphasizing quality, organization, and safety. The work area is expected to remain clean and orderly, and you will follow prescribed safety regulations while handling materials, operating equipment, and supporting logistics and shipping activities.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pleasanton, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
