Job summary

American Cruise Lines, the largest USA-flagged cruise line, seeks an Assistant Hotel Manager to join our shipboard team for the 2026 season. This role supports the Hotel Manager in delivering exceptional service, supervising hotel staff, and upholding dining, housekeeping, and guest services standards aboard our vessels.

The AHM will be on duty across meals, oversee crew training, and ensure adherence to company procedures while maintaining a gracious, professional hospitality environment at sea.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or Hotel & Restaurant Management preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English.
• Minimum 3 years management experience at a full-service hotel, resort, or cruise ship.
• Willingness to travel and work a flexible schedule including long days.
• US Coast Guard pre-employment drug test required.
• TWIC credential required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Housekeeping Manager and Guest Service Coordinator under the Hotel Manager.
• Assist Hotel Manager and Dining Room Manager during meals and service.
• Fill in as acting Hotel General Manager when the Hotel General Manager is off ship.
• Prepare turnover plans with the Hotel Manager during time off.
• Be present during all meals and manage both front and back of house operations.
• Ensure cleanliness of staterooms and public spaces and oversee inspections.
• Oversee bar operations and inventory; support crew training and onboarding.
• Assist ship officers in achieving weekly sales goals and maintain crew discipline.
