Job description

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The role involves performing assigned work to develop supervisory skills, completing basic management training, and understanding key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisory positions. These roles support the CVS Store Management team by driving store performance and fostering customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions:

1. Management

• Work effectively with store management and staff
• Supervise store crew by assigning, directing, and following up on activities
• Communicate effectively with management and staff

1. Customer Service

• Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
• Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, offer help, thank)
• Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring positive shopping experiences
• Maintain customer/patient confidentiality

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience in retail preferred
• Deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills required
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed
