Job description

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs tasks as directed to develop supervisory skills, completes basic management training, and learns about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and understanding CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are considered for promotion to open supervisory positions. These roles support the store management team in executing store operations and enhancing customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads the store staff, ensures smooth operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions:
  1. Management
    • Work effectively with store management and staff
    • Supervise store crew activities through assigning, directing, and following up
    • Communicate effectively with management and staff
  2. Customer Service
    • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
    • Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, help, thank)
    • Handle customer relations in accordance with company policy
    • Maintain customer/patient confidentiality

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent. Candidates should have retail experience, deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, and advanced communication skills. Flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime is necessary.

The pay range reflects the base hourly rate or full-time salary, depending on the position, with actual offers based on experience, education, location, and other factors.
