Job description

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. Trainees perform work as directed to develop supervisory skills, complete basic management training, and learn about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and understanding CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for consideration for promotion to open supervisor positions. These roles support store management in driving store performance and enhancing customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions:

1. Management
   • Work effectively with store management and staff.
   • Supervise store crew through assigning, directing, and following up on activities.
   • Communicate effectively with management and staff.
2. Customer Service
   • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
   • Promote CVS customer service culture by greeting, offering help, and thanking customers.
   • Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
   • Maintain customer confidentiality.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent. The role requires retail experience, deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, and advanced communication skills. Flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime is necessary.
