Job summary

HomeFirst is seeking an Experienced Shift Supervisor for the EIH Rue Ferrari site in San Jose, CA. This role oversees Resident Advocates, enforces site rules, and ensures service delivery standards in a 24/7 program focusing on Emergency Interim Housing for unhoused adults.

The Shift Supervisor will manage staffing, coordinate workshops, maintain documentation in HMIS, and collaborate with the Program Manager to meet program goals and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• AA degree (or equivalent of 2 years of higher education) or three years of field experience in social services.
• Sensitivity to the needs of unhoused individuals.
• Experience working with unhoused population.
• Willingness and ability to work with people from a variety of racial, cultural and economic backgrounds with various lifestyles, sexual orientations and of all ages and genders.

Responsibilities

• Direct Client Service: supervise care, safety and staff; ensure service delivery standards.
• Ensure staffing requirements per shift are met and incidents are documented; supervise staff.
• Oversee workshops and program activities, including scheduling and safety.
• Support with recruitment, training and supervision of staff; maintain HMIS documentation within 3 business days.
• Represent HomeFirst to volunteers, donors, outside agencies and the public.
