Job summary

HomeFirst seeks a Shift Supervisor for the Emergency Interim Housing (EIH) Rue Ferrari site in San Jose. You will oversee Resident Advocates, ensure safety and policy adherence, and coordinate day-to-day operations to support unhoused adults.

You will participate in staff training, incident reporting, and coordinating services, with a focus on trauma-informed care and crisis intervention. This is a non-exempt, full-time role with on-site responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Sensitivity to the needs of unhoused individuals.
• Experience working with unhoused population.
• Willingness and ability to work with people from a variety of backgrounds and ages.

Responsibilities

• Direct Client Service: oversee day-to-day operations and supervise Resident Advocates.
• Ensure safety, compliance with EIH guidelines, and incident reporting.
• Staff scheduling, training, and performance support; maintain required shift staffing.
• Oversee workshops and activities; respond to crises with de-escalation and MHFA techniques.
• Maintain records in HMIS and ensure documentation of services within 3 business days.
