Job summary

AdvanSix is seeking a First Line Supervisor in Virginia to direct hourly staff, manage procedures and budgets under a union contract, and drive continuous improvement. You will lead teams in safety, quality, and productivity, develop leaders, and ensure standardized work is followed across a 10–20 person department.

You will participate in 5S activities, train employees, and escalate issues per the AdvanSix Operating System.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing/chemical plant environment preferred
• Supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Direct hourly employees to achieve tasks and targets
• Plan and administer procedures and budgets per collective bargaining agreements
• Lead problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives
• Engage team leaders to improve processes and performance
• Manage 10–20 employee department to meet safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost goals
• Ensure health, safety and environmental regulations are followed
• Hire, train and develop team leaders and employees
• Drive standardized work and audit adherence
• Make departmental decisions on deviations to procedures
• Establish and share best-in-class manufacturing processes
• Lead 5S activities and continuous improvement culture
