Job summary

AdvanSix in Mechanicsville, VA is seeking a First Line Supervisor to lead a 10–20 person manufacturing team in a 24/7 operation. You will direct hourly staff to meet safety, quality and productivity targets, while applying AdvanSix Operating System principles and continuous improvement methods.

This role requires a high school diploma (associate/bachelor preferred) and 2–5 years in manufacturing supervision, with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in a technical or related field preferred.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, industrial, and/or chemical plant environment preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise direct reports to achieve tasks and targets.
• Plan and administer procedures and budgets per collective bargaining agreement.
• Lead workforce in problem solving and continuous improvement measures.
• Engage team leaders and employees to improve department processes and performance.
• Manage a 10-20 person department with attention to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
• Ensure health, safety, and environmental regulatory compliance.
