Job summary

AdvanSix in Richmond, VA is seeking a Lead First Line Supervisor to direct a 10–20 person team and meet safety, quality, delivery, productivity and cost targets. The role emphasizes coaching, training, and ensuring standard work is followed across the department.

You will lead problem solving, drive continuous improvement, and manage daily operations with a focus on safety and teamwork in a unionized manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial, or chemical plant environment.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience in a unionized environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct hourly employees to achieve tasks and targets.
• Plan and administer procedures and budgets per agreement.
• Lead in problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Engage leaders and employees to improve processes and performance.
• Manage a 10–20 person department across safety, quality, delivery, productivity and cost.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Interview, select and train team leaders and employees.
• Drive standardized work and audit adherence.
• Make departmental decisions while considering safety and procedural compliance.
• Communicate with shifts and peers about safety, quality, productivity and staffing.
• Lead the escalation process for issues as needed.
