Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in New York, NY is seeking an Operations Supervisor to support the Operations Manager I/II and oversee a shift's operations and personnel.

You will schedule work for technicians, ensure warranty compliance, manage customer communications, control costs and safety objectives, and partner with the Service Manager to maintain vehicle uptime. This role requires supervisory experience, a shop background, and proficiency with Shop Management Systems and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma/GED required.
• Associate's degree preferred or 1-3 years or more experience in a maintenance operations environment required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or 1-3 years or more experience in a maintenance operations environment required.
• Maintenance and Technical experience in a shop environment required.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with a Shop Management System preferred.
• Microsoft Office intermediate preferred.
• DOT Regulated No

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule work for technicians and track productivity.
• Ensure warranty policies and procedures are executed.
• Triage unscheduled customer drive-ins and assign work to technicians.
• Conduct yard checks to ensure proper work scheduling and prioritization.
• Provide management, training and development of all personnel assigned.
• Perform cost control measures related to maintenance operations budget and location P&L.
• Ensure safety and EPA regulations compliance.
• Maintain documentation for local, state, and federal requirements.
