HMSHost is seeking a Shift Manager I at Newark Airport F&B Term B to supervise daily restaurant operations, ensuring cleanliness, staffing, and high standards. You will work under the AGM/GM, manage schedules, and maintain cash handling integrity as part of a non-exempt team.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of 2 years food and beverage, cash handling, and customer service experience.
• Requires a minimum of 6 months supervisory or lead experience in a restaurant or production kitchen.
• Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, and converse with customers.

Responsibilities

• Completes opening, daily and closing procedures/checklists in accordance with company policies/procedures.
• Assists management in supervising day-to-day activities of associates within a unit.
• Participates in interviewing and hiring input; recommends promotions or status changes to GM.
• Assigns work tasks, prepares schedules, and ensures shifts are covered.
• Ensures mandated rest breaks and meal periods are taken by associates.
• Keeps display areas clean and visually appealing; ensures equipment works.
• Operates cash register and handles cash per policy and security rules.
• Monitors wellness and safety procedures and reports safety concerns.
