Job summary

Subway team members work to provide an excellent guest experience, keep the restaurant clean, and ensure high standards for food preparation and service. This role also involves inventory control, scheduling and supervising staff, and training teammates on responsibilities.

Positions include Full Time/Part Time with Day/Evening/Weekend shifts varying by location. Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least one year in a restaurant setting, with POS system experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.
• Able to operate a computerized POS system.

Responsibilities

As part of the Subway® Team, you as a Shift Manager will focus on six main things:

• Providing an excellent guest experience
• Ensuring that great food is prepared & served
• Keeping our restaurants functional, clean and beautiful
• Controlling inventory
• Scheduling and supervising staff
• Being a team player

In addition to the role of a typical Sandwich Artist®, key parts of your day to day will consist of:

• Cascading training to Sandwich Artists™ on existing and new responsibilities
• Scheduling and supervising staff
• Practicing inventory control standards
• Ensuring equipment is in proper working order during shift
• Completing paperwork as needed

PREREQUISITES

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Communication and organizational skills

Physical: Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
