Job summary

Subway is seeking a Shift Manager/Team Member to lead daily restaurant operations in California. You will guide staff, ensure quality food preparation, and maintain a clean, functional dining environment while prioritizing guest experience.

Responsibilities include training Sandwich Artists, managing inventory, and coordinating scheduling. This role requires strong communication, reliability, and the ability to work varied shifts in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent guest experience and ensure food is prepared and served properly.
• Schedule and supervise staff during shifts.
• Train and cascade responsibilities to team members.
• Maintain inventory control and ensure equipment is functional.
• Complete paperwork and maintain cleanliness and organization in the restaurant.

In addition to the role of a typical Sandwich Artist®, key parts of your day to day will consist of:

• Cascading training to Sandwich Artists™ on existing and new responsibilities
• Scheduling and supervising staff
• Practicing inventory control standards
• Ensuring equipment is in proper working order during shift
• Completing paperwork as needed

PREREQUISITES

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Communication and organizational skills

Physical: Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
