Potbelly Sandwich Shop in Royal Oak, MI is seeking a friendly Shift Leader to guide daily operations in a fast-paced kitchen and dining area. You will supervise team members, ensure product quality, manage customer service, and help control costs while upholding Potbelly values.

Requirements include at least 18 years old, 1 year of supervisory experience in food service or retail, passing state Food Safety requirements and certification, strong communication, and the ability to stand long hours.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail environment preferred.
• Must meet Food Safety requirements and obtain a Food Safety Certification.
• Friendly, customer-first mindset with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to stand 8-9 hours; lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Illinois applicants must obtain food safety certification within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Lead team members on shifts, assign tasks, and provide feedback.
• Ensure security procedures and back-of-the-house standards are followed.
• Count drawers and handle cash procedures.
• Prepare quality finished products and maintain health and safety standards.
• Restock food lines, chips and coolers; maintain cleanliness.
• Operate cash register and address customer complaints.
• Other duties as assigned.
