Job summary

Zax LLC, the operator behind Zaxbys, is seeking a Shift Leader to oversee product, process, and people during a shift, empowering team members and resolving guest concerns. This role carries supervisory responsibilities and drives benchmarks for shift performance.

As a leader in the restaurant, you will train, coach, and develop staff, maintain safety and quality standards, and ensure opening/closing tasks are completed while reporting progress to the General Manager.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Part-time: available to work 9 to 28 hours per week.
• Full-time: available to work 32 to 40 hours per week.
• Successful completion of background check.
• Demonstrates leadership qualities, organizational skills, and ability to interact cooperatively with others.
• Follows company standards and local laws with regards to employee time punches.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Technological savvy; knowledge of required company software and tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to make sound judgements and decisions which align with company standards and values.
• Servant leader mindset
• Leadership experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Complete all training requirements including Shift Leader Development Plan and Food Safety Certification.
• Create a culture of high-performance and coach team members to meet standards.
• Mentor, coach, and develop team members and report performance to General Manager.
• Prioritize guest and team member experience and resolve complaints politely.
• Maintain positive culture and morale through recognition and leading by example.
• Communicate shift goals and motivate team to meet targets.
• Delegate tasks and supervise performance during a shift.
• Maintain operational standards and ensure compliance with guidelines and procedures.
• Ensure service, product quality, and cleanliness standards are met.
• Plan shift duties and ensure opening/closing tasks are complete.
