Job summary

Velvet Taco in Austin is seeking a proactive Shift Leader/Supervisor to manage hourly team members, greet guests, and ensure smooth opening, mid, and closing shifts. You will de-escalate issues, handle cash and POS, support inventory, enforce food safety, and mentor teammates to uphold the Velvet Taco standards and fast-casual guest experience.

The role requires flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays, standing most of the shift, and adherence to safety and regulatory certifications.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience as a Shift Leader/Supervisor in a restaurant environment.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays depending on restaurant needs.
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Food Handler's Certification and Alcoholic Beverage Service Certification preferred.
• Strong leadership and guest-service orientation with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage hourly team members and interact with guests in a friendly, professional, and responsive way.
• Execute opening, mid, and closing duties daily following standard procedures and recipes.
• Handle guest concerns and guide to a positive resolution; de-escalate conflicts between team members.
• Assist with inventory process and daily prep, ensuring adherence to specifications and flavor profiles.
• Maintain food safety emphasis, monitor storage and shelf life, and keep the restaurant clean and organized.
• Model safety practices, enforce gloves, and keep pathways clear for a safe work environment.
