Job summary

Velvet Taco, Inc. is hiring for a shift leader/supervisor at our Rice Village location in Houston, TX. You will manage hourly team members and ensure a friendly, efficient guest experience, with open, mid, and closing duties executed to Velvet Taco standards.

You will handle guest concerns, cash handling, POS setup, and deposits, while modeling leadership and de-escalating conflicts. A strong focus on food safety and inventory support is essential for daily operations.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• 2 years of experience as a Shift Leader/Supervisor in a restaurant environment.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Manages the hourly team and interacts with guests in a friendly, professional way.
• Executes opening, mid, and closing duties following procedures.
• Handles guest concerns and resolves them positively.
• Performs cash handling, sets up POS drawers, and manages deposits.
• Leads by example to motivate others to follow procedures.
• De-escalates conflicts and ensures everyone is heard.
• Supports management with inventory processes.
• Maintains high food safety standards during shifts.
• Manages daily prep list and ensures adherence to specs and flavor.
• Maintains safe environment by using gloves, keeping floors clean, removing obstacles.
• Communicates a welcoming guest experience and accepts feedback.
