Job summary

Pollo Tropical in Florida is offering a Team Leader in Training (TLIT) role designed to prepare you for shift leadership through hands-on restaurant operations. You’ll support food safety, guest service, labor, and team engagement while working with our leadership team to develop leadership skills.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, at least 18 years old, and 6 months of restaurant experience.

Qualifications

18 years of age or older.
High school diploma or GED is required.
6 months of experience in the restaurant industry preferred.
Familiarity with technology systems including Outlook and HRIS platforms is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Willingness to grow in leadership and contribute to operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Supervise and guide hourly team members during shifts to ensure quality, efficiency, and guest service.
Learn safety, food safety, sanitation, and security procedures while planning shift responsibilities.
Coach and motivate team members to engage effectively.
Attend daily pre-shift huddles to align on goals and service standards.
Model high guest-service standards and address guest concerns with urgency.
Maintain compliance and support cleanliness and equipment upkeep.
Assist with scheduling, inventory checks, and cash handling procedures.
Shadow leadership during training and onboarding activities.
