Job summary

Potbelly Sandwich Works is hiring a Shift Leader in Kentucky to manage and develop associates, ensuring product quality and outstanding customer service in a fast-paced setting.

You will lead shifts, maintain cash handling procedures, help control costs, and uphold health and safety standards, while supporting back-of-house operations. Requires at least 1 year supervisory experience, strong communication, and a commitment to food safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years old
• 1 year supervisory experience in restaurant or retail preferred
• Must pass Food Safety Certification
• Friendly, customer-first mindset
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Problem-solving abilities
• Able to stand/walk 8-9 hours
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Lead team members on shifts and assign tasks with feedback
• Follow and enforce security procedures
• Maintain back-of-house procedural standards
• Count drawers and handle cash appropriately
• Prepare quality finished products
• Ensure health and safety standards
• Restock food line, chips and cooler
• Clean tables, counters, floors and utensils; dispose of trash
• Operate cash register and balance cash
• Handle customer complaints professionally
• Perform other duties as assigned
