Job summary

The MFA Petroleum Company, operating Break Time convenience stores in Missouri, is seeking a capable Shift Leader to help manage daily operations and supervise staff.

You will assist with banking, inventory, and ensuring food service and safety standards, while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. This role offers growth opportunities within MFA Oil's Break Time network.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Friendly, customer service-oriented person who enjoys a fast-paced work environment.
• Flexible availability which may include all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Works well individually and in leading a team.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations to make change, complete shift reports, and account for numbers of products during vendor check in.
• Ability to learn new concepts, use technical materials, and consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
• Ability to perform assigned duties with accuracy and with minimal supervision.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to communicate accurately and effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers and encouraging the store team to do the same; greet and thank each customer and provide fast and friendly service; support peak hours; handle complaints quickly.
• Assist in all aspects of store operation including daily reporting, banking, inventory, bookkeeping, fuel management, and maintaining facilities and safety.
• Assist in merchandising activities including pricing, promotions, stocking, and driving sales.
• Supervise assigned shifts in the manager's absence; train new employees on policies and procedures; support food service and safety.
• Maintain professional communication with customers, vendors, employees, and management regarding store operations.
• Understand store finances; participate in cash handling, audits, and expense control; support sales goals.
• Promote teamwork and adherence to local, state, and federal regulations; assist in recruiting and development.
• Operate point of sale systems and other technology; perform shift reports and cash counts.
