Potbelly Sandwich Works is seeking a friendly Shift Leader to guide a fast-paced team and ensure outstanding product quality and customer service. You will lead shift operations, manage associates, control costs, and uphold Potbelly values.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail environment.
• Must meet all Food Safety requirements and obtain Food Safety Certification.
• Customer-first mindset with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Problem solving abilities.
• Comfortable working in a bustling kitchen environment (knife skills a plus).
• Able to manage allergens (peanuts, eggs, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, shellfish).
• Able to stand/walk for 8–9 hours; lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Lead team members on shifts and assign tasks while providing feedback.
• Ensure security procedures are followed.
• Maintain back-of-house standards and cash handling procedures.
• Prepare quality finished products efficiently.
• Comply with health and safety standards.
• Restock food line, chips, and coolers.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils; take out trash.
• Operate cash register and balance cash."
• Handle customer complaints effectively.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
