Potbelly Sandwich Works in Rockford, IL is seeking a friendly Shift Leader to guide a fast-paced team, ensure food quality, and deliver excellent customer service.

You will manage shifts, train associates, handle cash and daily operations while upholding food safety standards. Applicants should be 18+, have at least 1 year supervisory experience in foodservice or retail, and be able to pass state food safety certification.

Qualifications

• You are at least 18 years old.
• A minimum of 1 year supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail environment preferred.
• You meet all Food Safety requirements within your state and must obtain a Food Safety Certification.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
• Able to stand for long periods and manage health and safety standards in a busy kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Lead team members on shifts, assigning tasks and giving feedback.
• Ensure security procedures and back-of-house standards are met.
• Count drawers and manage daily cash handling procedures.
• Prepare quality finished products and maintain health and safety standards.
• Restock, clean, and manage ordering where needed.
• Handle customer complaints and operate the register efficiently.
