Job summary

Walgreens in Charlotte, NC seeks a capable store associate to open/close in the absence of management, manage cash, and prepare the floor and stock room for business. You will support deliveries through the back door and help ensure smooth daily operations.

You will deliver a friendly customer experience, assist with returns and refunds, and help with inventory, pricing, and basic bookkeeping, while maintaining a clean, compliant store environment.

Qualifications

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Responsibilities

• Opens and closes the store in the absence of store management, including all required systems start-ups and cash handling.
• Completes product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provides change at registers.
• Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolves issues for a positive experience.
• Models and shares customer service best practices with team members to deliver a distinctive experience.
• Holds store keys to open/close without management as necessary.
• Coaches team members in warehouse and vendor ordering processes and opening backdoor for deliveries.
• Registers all sales with accuracy, including errors, price verifications, and voids.
• Assists in reviewing order exceptions and reverse logistics; helps with displays and stock revisions.
• Maintains accurate inventory counts and on-hand quantities across departments and stockroom.
• Ensures pricing accuracy, signage, and compliance with local regulations and policies.
• Assists with bookkeeping activities (cash reports, counts, ledgers, payments).
• Supports maintenance by keeping store conditions clean and organized and coordinating repairs.
• Assists with product separation by department and stock rotation using FIFO.
• Maintains knowledge of store systems and equipment and supports pharmacy out window when requested.
• Ensures compliance with regulated products laws and bag checks of team members.
• Complies with policies and completes special assignments as requested.
