Job summary

Potbelly Sandwich Works is seeking a Shift Leader to manage a fast-paced restaurant shift, develop associates, and ensure top-quality product and customer service while controlling costs.

Lead by example, meet safety standards, and coach team members on task assignments, cash handling, and guest satisfaction. This role requires supervisory experience, strong communication, and the ability to thrive in a lively kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years old.
• 1 year supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail setting preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Stand/walk 8-9 hours; lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must meet state Food Safety requirements and certification within stated timeline.

Responsibilities

• Lead team members on shifts with task delegation and feedback.
• Ensure security procedures are followed and cash handling is correct.
• Maintain back-of-house standards and food safety practices.
• Prepare quality finished products efficiently (sandwiches, salads, soups, etc.).
• Handle customer complaints professionally and help resolve issues.
• Other duties as assigned.
