Job summary

Sonic Drive-In is seeking an Assistant Manager to help lead and manage drive-in operations and employees during assigned shifts. This nonexempt role supports the General Manager by training, coaching, and directing team members, while ensuring an optimal guest experience and adherence to company policies.

You will monitor staffing, perform opening and closing duties, handle guest and employee issues, manage cost controls across food, labor, and inventory, and maintain drive-in records.

Qualifications

• At least six months of restaurant management experience or one year of retail management experience.
• Experience running a restaurant shift without supervision.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of labor laws and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Train, coach, and lead drive-in employees during shift.
• Lead drive-in operations to provide an optimal guest experience.
• Manage staffing levels during shift.
• Perform opening and/or closing duties.
• Handle guest issues/concerns during shift.
• Handle employee issues/concerns during shift.
• Monitor food, labor, inventory for cost-control and quality.
• Maintain drive-in records and comply with policies and standards.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws.
