Job summary

Philz Coffee is seeking a Team Lead (Shift Supervisor) to supervise daily shift activities and support a vibrant team of baristas. You will model outstanding service, ensure drink quality, and foster a welcoming community for customers.

You will lead by example, schedule coverage, train new hires, and coordinate with Store Leaders to maintain smooth operations and safety standards. Prior supervisory experience in food/beverage is preferred, but a willingness to learn is valued.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience in a fast-paced food and beverage environment is preferred.
• Don’t worry if you’ve never been a barista before – if you have a passion for people and a willingness to learn, we’ll teach you everything you need to know.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily activities of shifts and support a dynamic team of baristas.
• Motivate and inspire team members and set the bar for superior service and drink quality.
• Develop strong relationships with customers and the local community.
• Assess performance including service and drink quality.
• Hold team members accountable to shifts; cover called-out shifts and manage breaks.
• Communicate performance to Store Leaders and other Shift Supervisors to ensure consistency.
• Support promotions and new hires through in-store training.
• Assist Store Leader with operations and administrative duties.
• Lead implementation of Philz safety programs.
