Job summary

Philz Coffee is seeking a Team Lead (Shift Supervisor) to supervise daily shifts and guide a passionate team of baristas. You’ll model exceptional service, craft quality drinks, and foster a welcoming, community-centered environment in our Colma location.

You’ll lead by example, supervise shifts, train new hires, and partner with Store Leaders to ensure smooth operations and safety compliance. Prior supervisory experience is preferred, with a willingness to learn and grow within the Philz

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in a fast-paced food and beverage environment is preferred.
• Willingness to learn and train others, even if not yet a barista.
• Ability to work flexible schedules and lead by example.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily shift activities and support a dynamic team of baristas.
• Motivate and inspire team members to deliver superior service and drink quality.
• Develop relationships with customers and the local community.
• Assess performance of team members regarding service and drink quality.
• Hold team members accountable to shifts, cover called-out shifts, and manage breaks.
• Communicate performance to Store Leaders and other Shift Supervisors.
• Support promotions and in-store training of new hires.
• Assist Store Leader with operations and administrative duties.
• Lead safety program implementation and maintenance.
