Job summary

Philz Coffee is seeking a Team Lead (Shift Supervisor) in San Francisco to supervise daily shifts and guide a spirited team of baristas. You’ll uphold our service standards, craft great drinks, and foster a welcoming environment for customers and the community.

You’ll lead by example, mentor team members, and partner with Store Leaders to maintain operational excellence and safety. Prior supervisory experience in fast-paced hospitality is preferred; training will be provided for new baristas who

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience in a fast-paced food & beverage environment preferred.
• Willingness to learn and coach others, even if you haven't been a barista before.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily shift activities and support a dynamic team of baristas.
• Motivate and set the standard for service and drink quality.
• Develop relationships with customers and the local community.
• Assess team performance and ensure consistent service and quality.
• Manage shift coverage, breaks, and compliance with schedules.
• Communicate performance to Store Leaders and other Supervisors.
• Assist with promotions and in-store training of new hires.
• Support store operations and administrative duties.
• Lead in implementing Philz safety programs.
