Job summary

Five Guys Operations LLC in Houston is seeking a Shift Leader to guide the restaurant on busy shifts, coach crew, and deliver fast, accurate service that keeps guests returning.

You’ll lead by example, work alongside team members in a fast-paced kitchen and dining area, handle cash and shift tasks, and contribute to a positive, high-energy culture with a focus on cleanliness and safety.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience (leadership preferred).
• Strong team-first mindset with communications skills.
• Leads by doing—not just directing.
• Ability to stay cool and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math and comfort using POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift and step in to run operations when management isn’t on site.
• Jump into every position—cashier, grill, prep, fries, dining room—no task is too small.
• Deliver fast, accurate service and create a great guest experience every time.
• Coach, support, and motivate crew members to perform at their best.
• Help train new team members and build a strong, positive culture.
• Keep the restaurant clean, safe, and up to brand standards.
• Manage shift tasks like breaks, cash handling, and closing reports.
