Job summary

Five Guys in Gainesville, FL is seeking an experienced Shift Leader to run operations on busy shifts and deliver an outstanding guest experience. You’ll lead by example, coach crew, and ensure safety and brand standards are met.

This role requires 1–2 years in hospitality with leadership, strong communication, calm decision making in fast-paced settings, and basic math with POS systems. Growth opportunities abound as many leaders move into higher roles.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience (leadership preferred).
• A team-first mindset with strong communications skills.
• Someone who leads by doing—not just directing.
• Ability to stay cool and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math and comfort using POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift and step in to run operations when management isn't on site.
• Jump into every position—cashier, grill, prep, fries, dining room—no task is too small.
• Deliver fast, accurate service and create a great guest experience every time.
• Coach, support, and motivate crew members to perform at their best.
• Help train new team members and build a strong, positive culture.
• Keep the restaurant clean, safe, and up to brand standards.
• Manage shift tasks like breaks, cash handling, and closing reports.
